October 17, 2017Student of International High School of Tuzla, Sabina Tinjić, has participated in INESPO project olympiad in Netherlands this year.
INESPO project olympiad has been held for eight years and each year contestants come from around 45 countries, with the aim to provide solutions for saving our environment and eliminate ecological problems through education.
This year's competition has brought two gold medals for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Besides Sabina, students of Sarajevo College Selma Fuško and Ena Smajlović have won the medals as well.
“Through project "Tea time" I have researched an anti-microbe influence of plants on infections caused by pathogen bacteria. Main goal of this project is to lower the usage of antibiotics and increase the use of plants and other herbal substances, as well as to prove the efficiency of the plants themselves, and educate our community about it", explains Sabina Tinjić. Sabina has won a golden medal with this project at BOSEPO olympiad, a bronze medal at GENIUS olympiad in USA, and a gold medal at INESPO project olympiad in Netherlands.
After she had the chance as one of the contestants to present her project in front of other colleagues and the jury, the same project has won the award for most practical project at the olympiad.
“I am happy with the achievements I made working on this project together with my professor Maydan Firat. I have learned lots of new things which probably I wouldn't be able to do without having the opportunity to do these kind of project olympiads and competitions. Another very important thing for me was meeting new friends. We can share our opinions and experiences and discuss future projects.”
